Where Youth Take the Lead in Learning
Guiding Stars is a youth-focused organization dedicated to empowering students through free one-on-one mentorship online. Our mentorship program fosters academic confidence, life skills, and personal growth, helping students navigate challenges and achieve their full potential.
At Guiding Stars, our mission is to empower students of all backgrounds, especially those in underserved communities, with the knowledge and confidence they need to succeed academically, while also building essential life skills, including public speaking, financial literacy, and time management.
Through 1-on-1 virtual sessions with mentors, we not only address learning gaps but spark interest in new subjects and guide the development of important life skills. We believe every student deserves a mentor who is dedicated to their growth as a student and as a person.
Mentorship Program
At Guiding Stars, our mentorship program is designed to support the whole student, with a model that focuses on three core goals: academic support, skill building, and personal agency.
Through consistent one-on-one virtual sessions, high school mentors guide younger students with their schoolwork, introduce them to real-world skills, and help them take ownership of their learning and growth. Because our mentors are close in age to their mentees, they’re able to connect on a more personal level, understanding the challenges, interests, and experiences that come with being a student today. This relatability helps build trust and engagement, making sessions feel more authentic and encouraging.
Skill Building
Students will be exposed to essential life skills, such as public speaking and financial literacy, to help them succeed with confidence in their academic careers
Personal Agency
With the help of their mentor, students will develop foundational skills, such as time management and goal setting, to prepare for life beyond the classroom.

Resource & Aid Program
Stars Give Back
Our Resource & Aid Program organizes and hosts engaging events, like book fairs and fundraisers, that not only collect essential school supplies but also boost student participation and excitement towards their learning. Through these efforts, we donate much-needed educational supplies and materials directly to families, focusing especially on underserved communities. By collaborating closely with educators and community partners, we strive to remove barriers to learning and ensure every student has the tools and opportunities to succeed.
